Expand Your Journalism Skills for the Global Stage

Published on November 27, 2025

Starts: July 1, 2024    Ends: July 1, 2024

In our commitment to strengthening journalism practice across Globe, we collaborated with the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ),  the United Kingdom’s leading journalism training and standards body, to deliver capacity-building sessions for students and early-career journalists.

This partnership reflects a shared belief in the future of journalism: one that is ethical, data-driven, digitally competent, and deeply grounded in responsible storytelling. Together with NCTJ, we facilitated a training programme designed to equip participants with real-world newsroom skills, including:

  • News writing and reporting

  • Media ethics and regulation

  • Digital storytelling

  • Data and research-based reporting practices

The training brought together aspiring journalists, young reporters, and media students, many of whom are preparing to step into professional newsrooms or already shaping stories within their communities. Beyond building technical skills, the sessions reinforced the ethos of journalism as a public good: fact-based, human-centred and accountable.

For us, collaborating with an institution as globally respected as NCTJ marks a significant step in our broader mission to democratise journalism skills and expand access to quality training. It strengthens our role in preparing the next generation of African journalists to report accurately, ethically, and with depth, especially in a media landscape where credibility is increasingly critical.

We remain committed to partnerships that elevate journalism standards and open opportunities for emerging storytellers across the continent.
